Had an interesting discussion with Dr. Mark Bull (Bull3d.net) around priorities in developing golf motion and he found training the pelvis, as the center of motion, to be primary. I haven’t looked at the pelvis to much and decided to do some investigating… Here’s what I found.

Simplify Your Golf Swing With Proper Hip Turn
  1. Hips start slightly open to target line.
  2. Hips start to turn before hands begin to swing.
  3. Max hip turn occurs at X-cross position.
  4. Hips recenter and get back to square as lead arm gets level to the ground.
  5. Hips are 40 degrees open at impact.
  6. Hips turn 90 degrees to the target at X-cross position in follow through.
  7. Hips turn closer to 110 degrees open in the follow-through, rather than 90 degrees
